As a retired Dental Hygienist and former CNA, I have always had a career where I provide a service that help people. As a former CNA, I witnessed the importance of knowing CPR. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation, more commonly known as CPR, is a life-saving technique that helps maintain blood flow to the brain and heart in an emergency situation. CPR can save your life, a family member’s life, and a stranger’s life.

In case of an emergency situation, you should first call 911. However, in some cases where a person is having a heart attack or the person appears to not be breathing, those minutes waiting on help to arrive can seem long and actions taken can extend a life. Especially if you have CPR training, you will be able to apply those skills to help aid a victim until first responders arrive and can take over.

Cardiac Arrests In The Home

According to Medical News, almost 85 percent of all cardiac arrests take place in the home. Knowing CPR will give you the courage and skills needed to potentially save a life.

Anyone Can Learn CPR

Anyone can learn CPR.  "The American Heart Association reports that 70% of Americans feel helpless to act in the event of a cardiac emergency because they either do not know how to effectively administer CPR or their training has lapsed."
